Monica Truax has already racked up numerous academic achievements. When she was in high school she was her Freshman class president, a member of Student Council, a Corvallis High School peer mediator, and participated in Leadership class. These were among the factors that earned her selection to the National Honor Society. Monica Truax was also her class Salutatorian when she graduated in 2006, meaning she had the second-highest grade point average for her entire graduating class.

In addition to her academics, Monica Truax excelled in sports at CHS. She played girls’ varsity basketball for three years, and was on the girls’ varsity soccer team for two years. She also played on the Junior Varsity soccer team for two years.

In college at Oregon State University, Monica Truax continued racking up achievements. She graduated with Honors Degrees in Marketing and Spanish, and earned the Psi Award from the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity.

After graduating from OSU, Monica Truax held down a job at the Target Distribution Center for two years. Now, she works at the
Marion Polk Food Share.

Those lucky enough to know Monica Truax say she is a fun-loving young woman. As for her final academic objective: once Monica Truax completes work on her MBA at Willamette University, she plans on entering the University of San Diego Honors Program, studying biology.

Monica Truax was also heavily involved in student life. In addition to being a member of Student Council and Freshman Class President, she was a CHS peer mediator and in the Leadership class. Her service was a factor in her selection to the National Honor Society. Selection for NHS membership is based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Monica Truax was class Salutatorian when she graduated in 2006, meaning she had the second-highest grade point average of her entire graduating class.

After high school Monica Truax decided to attend Oregon State University, which kept her near her home in Corvallis. She continued to excel academically, earning Honors Degrees in Marketing and Spanish upon graduation in June 2011. She also became a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional business fraternity.

From Oregon State, Monica Truax went on to graduate school at Willamette University in Salem, where she is working toward her MBA. When she finishes at Willamette, Monica Truax plans to continue her education at San Diego State University, studying biology in its Honors Program.

Marion Polk Food Share. Once she finishes that, she plans on heading south to San Diego, where she will study biology in the University of San Diego Honors Program.
