Monica Truax is working toward her MBA at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. For many college students, that would be the crowning achievement to a collegiate career. For Monica Truax, however, there is at least one more goal in sight.
Monica Truax has already racked up numerous academic achievements. When she was in high school she was her Freshman class president, a member of Student Council, a Corvallis High School peer mediator, and participated in Leadership class. These were among the factors that earned her selection to the National Honor Society. Monica Truax was also her class Salutatorian when she graduated in 2006, meaning she had the second-highest grade point average for her entire graduating class.
In addition to her academics, Monica Truax excelled in sports at CHS. She played girls’ varsity basketball for three years, and was on the girls’ varsity soccer team for two years. She also played on the Junior Varsity soccer team for two years.
In college at Oregon State University, Monica Truax continued racking up achievements. She graduated with Honors Degrees in Marketing and Spanish, and earned the Psi Award from the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity.
After graduating from OSU, Monica Truax held down a job at the Target Distribution Center for two years. Now, she works at the Marion Polk Food Share.
Those lucky enough to know Monica Truax say she is a fun-loving young woman. As for her final academic objective: once Monica Truax completes work on her MBA at Willamette University, she plans on entering the University of San Diego Honors Program, studying biology.
