Monica Truax has learned that if she puts her mind to it, she can accomplish just about anything.
At twenty-six years old, Monica Truax has already done a lot. By the time she graduated from Corvallis High School in 2006, she had been her Freshman class president and a member of Student Council. She played girls’ varsity basketball for three years, and was on the girls’ varsity soccer team for two years. She also played on the Junior Varsity soccer team for two years.
Monica Truax was also heavily involved in student life. In addition to being a member of Student Council and Freshman Class President, she was a CHS peer mediator and in the Leadership class. Her service was a factor in her selection to the National Honor Society. Selection for NHS membership is based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Monica Truax was class Salutatorian when she graduated in 2006, meaning she had the second-highest grade point average of her entire graduating class.
After high school Monica Truax decided to attend Oregon State University, which kept her near her home in Corvallis. She continued to excel academically, earning Honors Degrees in Marketing and Spanish upon graduation in June 2011. She also became a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional business fraternity.
From Oregon State, Monica Truax went on to graduate school at Willamette University in Salem, where she is working toward her MBA. When she finishes at Willamette, Monica Truax plans to continue her education at San Diego State University, studying biology in its Honors Program.
